 As we move into the busy, hectic and exciting holiday season, let us pause and enjoy our work together knowing that we are honored and entrusted with building 21^st learners. The workforce of today and the future expects workers who can work with others, be leaders, problems solvers, and creative thinkers and be able to communicate effectively using media and technology skills. As we join forces to build the future workforce and leaders, we are proud to acknowledge some special student celebrations:

Several of our high school students were recently recognized for all county athletic accomplishments in Volleyball:

3rd team -- Hayley Couch, Katie Marabella

Academic All state:  Amanda Affolter and Sadie St. Clair

Many student centered activities and performances are scheduled for the upcoming weeks. FBI students presented an outstanding variety play performance this past week led by Lisa Marie Daugherty, with assistance from several supportive colleagues. RJW students will be visiting Santa's Secret Shop for the next few weeks, while also participating in a toy and food drive. Junior High and High School students are busy with basketball season and the high school is enjoying a beautiful new gym floor. Both junior high and high school students are preparing a choir and musical performance on Dec. 11^th at FBI.

Once again our SFISD community has exhibited an incredible display of generosity. Even in economically difficult times, our staff has exceeded contributions to the 2008 United Way Campaign totaling over $22,000 an increase of $1,800 from last year. Special kudos to our transportation department and high school staff with their enthusiastic collections totaling over $4,000 and exceeding their goal by 250%!!!  

To prepare students for success, SFISD will achieve and maintain exemplary results by utilizing innovative strategies with the highest standards to educate ALL students in a collaborative learning community.
